L.B.C. Law Biting Citizens -227 Digital Masterz of 304 RECONZ After the blessings of SB the punkest rock crew in Motown came to bless the stage for the crowd after being on hiatus for about 6 weeks, L.B.C.(Law Biting Citizens). The anticipation of the crowd was thick and you could tell that the group was just as eager to satisfy that anticipation as they were to hear it. The energetic Jeremiahs stage show is like that of a barefooted man on hot coals with an electric eel down his pants. Yeah picture that. Soon as the music came in the crowd began with the moshing. It was a beautiful sight to see the crowd loving them like they had been the break tha they needed from their lives. The hard riffs and the intense breaks sent the crowd into a damn frenzy. I always think it real when a chic is sweating and throwing herself around and its not from throwing a temper tantrum. They did a collective of songs that usually sets the house on fire. Including my favorite, "Like You." Much love to all of you guys, stay up and look for the top because its the only way off the bottom. -Frank Strange 8/12/01 Law Biting Citizens - Don't Know Why It All Has To Make Sense. Although theyve been virtually right under my nose (actually 3 hours drive away). I hadnt heard anything about Law Biting Citizens until I recently stumbled across their debut. After just one listen I was really surprised that a band this good hadnt caught my attention. Best described as hardcore with a strong melodic side, Dont Know Why It All Has To Make Sense has some interesting elements like the tempo shifts in "Over The Edge", the strong dynamics of "Like You" and "Infection"s shuffling pace. Everything here is top-notch from the tight musicianship and intelligent lyrics to the stellar production (locally produced by Mark Poole, leader of the band Moon). Hopefully they can get beyond the burden that sometimes comes from being a WV band, becase this is a band that deserves to be heard.
Reviews
"Keep a Candle Burning"
As staples of Morgantown music, Law Biting Citizens have been one of the most consistent and power local acts that Ive had the pleasure of playing with and seeing during my time gallivanting around the indie music scene of Northern West Virginia and Southwestern Pennsylvania. With their newest release, Keep a Candle Burning, the band has not only mastered the style in which they have been excelling in for so long, but LBC has also successfully strayed away at times into more experimental mediums of expression.
With intelligent hardcore to satisfy the traditionalist, humor to let their individual personalities shine, and even a banjo instrumental song called, Lauren, Keep a Candle Burning is a complete album that can be played from start to finish without any filler material to fast forward. Any listener that keeps the CD blaring past the 9 listed tracks will also be in for a pleasant surprise.
LBCs current line up consists of Jeff Goodwin and Jason Gillespie on Guitars, Jamie Simmons on bass, Jordan Munsey on drums/banjo, and Jeremiah Munsey on vocals.

Law Biting Citizens: "Don't Know Why It All Has To Make Sense"
The day is upon us. Finally, we can take down the long running "LBC News Section", in which we formed a running tab of events leading up to this Album's release date. Jeff promised that it was good, he talked about it non-stop, and I can truthfully say it proves worth all the hype and suspense. Yesterday's release party (2/11/01) was amazing, there was a great turn out and provided an appropriate celebration for the much anticipated release. If you have not heard, or witnessed LBC for yourself there is little I can do to relate the atmosphere of an LBC show, their talent is the epidome of what a hardcore band should be. Their sound is best described as punk influenced hardcore, and appreciated by many different gendres of kids. This album shows the amazingly powerful voice we all known LBC has become. You can feel the spirit of each word as Jeramiah delivers them, the guitars sing beautifully and the riffs are catchy but not in that pop punk, 'can't get this annoying sound out of my head' kind of way. The Bass and drums propel this rythum that I think makes LBC so powerfull, the overlying rythum makes it impossible to forget or mistake. The final package is awesome songs that are impossible to sit still to. This Album can only be described as poetry that makes you want to get up and hit things.
The Album includes 11 tracks as follows:
1. For A friend
2. Breaking
3. Selective Memory
4. Scenic W.V.
5. So Long Suckers
6. Infection
7. Over The Edge
8. Stuck in A Rut
9. Lazy Boys
10. 9 Lives of The Allycat
11. Like You
I have to add how professionally sounding it is. Mark Poole and Zone 8 are some high quality production. Today I put this CD on the way to school and my little Rap-core loving dorky brother said "Wow did you finally buy a real cd?" (Due to the fact all my other cd's are low quality punk rock that sound like they were dubbed on a battlefeild.) Great job boys, this really was impressive and powerful. I remember seeing you a few years back and thinking you we're awesome.. and you've grown so immensly I dont know how to describe you now. It was really a bitch to find words to review this cd haha. It is really an accurate depiction of what you have become over the years. Okay I'm ending this reveiw cus im out of adjectives that mean "good."

Ever witnessed something bigger than you, that's what a Law Biting Citizens show does to me, like all the bullshit stops here. The energy level goes thru the roof when these guys plug up and play, the earth moves and the walls sweat, LBC is the real thang baby.

If you love good old school hardcore you will love Law Biting Citizens. On "Don't Know Why It All Has To Make Sense" LBC bring their blend of punk rock attitude and working class hardcore rock and roll to the forefront to give you one heck of a joyride. This 11 song full length is loaded with angst, aggression, sing alongs and fury so grab your dancing shoes and drive up to 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantown, WV and catch an LBC show. My favorite songs on this release would have to be "Selective Memory", "Infection", "Lazy Boys" and "Like You." Look for a new full length release from Law Biting Citizens coming summer 2004.
